The Shetland-donkey combo fly rug with waterproof top line is useful in warm weather and particularly in showery conditions, as the waterproof panel provides some protection. It is worth noting though that because the sides are mesh, they may absorb moisture and spread to the nylon lining on the top panel.

This panel also helps to reduce the risk of coat discolouration on the top line and strengthens the top, which is beneficial when horses are in paddocks with trees.

The rug is made from soft yet strong 280g polyester mesh. From the poll, down the mane line, along the spine, and covering the whole tail flap, there is a waterproof/breathable fabric with a soft nylon lining on the underside to help prevent rubbing. The chest is also lined to help prevent rubbing and keep the coat smooth. The density and strength of the mesh make this rug ideal for ponies particularly sensitive to insects or those suffering from conditions such as sweet itch.

The rug features generous shoulder gussets, allowing the pony better freedom of movement and helping to prevent friction or rubbing. A generous tail flap and detachable webbing leg straps are included, which can be removed if not needed.

At the chest, there are double adjustable chest straps with D rings and robust trigger clips. Once adjusted, putting the rug on or taking it off is quick with just two clips to fasten. An added Velcro strip provides extra security.

The rug has a belly band with Velcro straps and over straps, giving double locking protection.

The combo neck extends to the brow and features fleece-lined ear holes, with extra neck length to allow the pony to graze comfortably.

The rug comes packed in a zipped bag with handles, ideal for storage when not in use.
