The Shetland-miniature-donkey-Section A 280g V2 middleweight 1200d standard turnout rug is ideal for clipped ponies in Autumn and Spring and for hardier types in cold weather. There are also neck covers to match these rugs – listed separately.

The rug is made from 1200D waterproof and breathable outer fabric (5000mm/5000g/m²/24hrs) which has also been Teflon™ coated which makes it even tougher and more resistant to moisture and staining.

The underside of the rug is made from soft nylon lining which helps to prevent rubbing and keep the coat smooth and shoulder gussets feature which allow the pony freer movement and help to prevent friction to the coat. There is a generous tail flap with reflective strips.

The rug has double detachable webbing leg straps – the advantage here being they are easy to remove if not required or to replace if damaged as they are not sewn in. The surcingle straps are adjustable and have rubber washers to help stop them unfastening.

At the chest there are double adjustable straps with D rings and quick release clips – so once the straps are adjusted to fit the pony putting on and taking off at the chest is quick and easy as just two clips to fasten and unfasten.

There is a wither protector fitted for the comfort of the pony and Velcro fastenings either side of protector for fastening the neck if one required (listed separately) - there is a flap over the Velcro to protect if neck is not required.

There are reflective strips on the chest, hind quarters and tail flap which are most useful especially if have to lead on roads.

The rug is machine washable and comes packed in a zipped bag with handles – ideal for storing the rug when not in use.
